Bibles

Once the lessons are prepared - they are translated into Swahili. Copies are made and each member of the class can have a copy of whichever version they are most comfortable with (English or Swahili). They love having a "handout" as it gives each person an opportunity to continue to study the material as well as share it at home with friends and family members.

Most people do not own a bible. The cost of a paperback bible is approximately $8.00. When a months rent is $12.00, it is obviously a formidable amount for most people.

For this meeting - Lee borrowed 6 bibles for the class to use. They intently looked up the scriptures themselves!
